In Shop4CF project KILT Oy is developing automatic CUT SHOP pricing tools for laser cutting subcontracting sales process. We are building an online ordering system which enables any customer to receive instantaneous quotation for any 2D-
drawing files (PDF, DXF, SVG, CDR) including laser cutting or engraving. Software takes into account the geometry, used material and machine characteristics to provide a sales person machine process time, cost of production, sales price and sales margin. Sales person can also see how any change in order affects to these values. After quotation approval, the job is sent to production queue in just one click.
Advantages
The software is planned to support fully digital work cycle to enable fast and accurate quotations and instant transfer into production. In this way, the delivery times can be minimized and also smaller production batches can be made profitably. Another advantage for the established customers is that quoting interface can be used by customer directly, either manually or by ERP systems to enable instant automatic quotations.
Fully automatic mode for pricing is not mandatory. Salesperson can keep on receiving quote requests with email as
before and use CUT SHOP only as internal tool to make cost calculations faster. This is important because most likely
most customers still want to keep on using email for making quote requests and interact with humans.
Does it work in online shop
Yes, it does. CUT SHOP allows you to sell cutting as a service in online shop offering automatic quotation tool and workfile generation that can create ready workfiles for your production.
